WHAT IS IT?

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a 60 volume set of books beginning with the children's classic The Little Engine That Could™.  Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child's name directly to your home.  Best of all it is a FREE GIFT!  There is no cost or obligation to your family.

The Paw Paw Area Rotary Club has partnered with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to bring this wonderful program to you and your children.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

We're excited to announce that a recent partnership with United Way of Southwest Michigan has allowed the Imagination Library to expand coverage to all of Van Buren County for children under the age of 5.

HOW IT WORKS

Parents may register their children for this program through the Imagination Library website.

Eight to ten weeks after your registration form has been received and your eligibility has been verified, books will begin arriving at your home and will continue until your child turns five or you no longer meet the eligibility requirements.

Each month, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library will mail each registered child a high quality, age appropriate book at no cost to the child's family.  The book is addressed specifically to the child.  Countless parents have shared how excited their child is when their new book arrives each month.

HOW ARE BOOKS CHOSEN

Each year the Blue Ribbon Book Selection Committee, a specially selected panel of early childhood literacy experts, is responsible for reviewing hundreds of potential titles for inclusion in The Imagination Library.

The selected books progress from sturdy picture books for the youngest ages that teach shapes and colors to nursery rhymes and stories that build values and character as the child grows.

FUNDING

These books are provided to each registered child at no cost to the child's family.  United Way of Southwest Michigan, along with partners such as Paw Paw Area Rotary Club, fund the program for our local area.  Families will never be solicited or asked to provide funding for their child's books.

OUR MISSION

"The single most significant factor influencing a child's early educational success is an introduction to books and being read to at home prior to beginning school." - National Commission on Reading

The Paw Paw Area Rotary Club is committed to helping our local children succeed in their education.  This program is an excellent way to get started early in the child's life.  Through this program, each child will slowly build their own personal library of exciting books.
